Stop and smell the roses…
November is a wonderful time of year, especially here in Maine.
Granted, the moment we’ve been dreading has finally arrived…it’s time to pack away our summer gear and turn up the thermostat. Brrr! With change there is always something new to look forward to, and new opportunities around the bend. We say bring it on, but honestly there isn’t much of a choice! Halloween seemed to fly by before we knew it and Thanksgiving is well on its way. In just a couple weeks there will be more turkey, stuffing, and sweet potatoes than you’ll know what to do with! Then it’s off to the races in retail madness – selecting just the right gift for everyone on your list. Phew! We’re tired just thinking about it all! November marks the beginning of the holiday season (or madness, as it often seems) – it’s easy to get caught up in our routines, trying to make preparations so everything goes according to plan.
It’s funny though, when we look back and remember holidays from years past it’s the memories of our families and friends that stand out most. In fact, I hardly remember those missing peas or worrying about serving whole berry instead of jellied cranberry sauce. This year, take a step back and enjoy the things most important in your life. Who are you most thankful for this year? What do you cherish this Thanksgivng holiday season? Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses!
