These Are A Few Of Our Favorite Things About...Fall!

Posted by Sarah Gelber on

We Are Ready For Fall! Are You?

There's definitely no denying it: fall is here (after all, it was September 22nd yesterday) and we are loving it. The second the temperature dropped to 70, it was just a sign that fall was around the corner. After a few mornings waking up to a cool breeze, the best season of the year is finally here! Here's why we love fall!

Fall is the beginning of apple season, complete with apple picking, apple cider donuts and more apple pie than you'll ever be able to finish. It starts with apple picking, which is every New Englander's favorite fall activity. Apple picking at the apple orchard is never complete without a few fresh out of the oven apple cider donuts! Seriously, it's a life changing event that everyone should experience at least once in their life.

After you've picked just about every apple that your hands can handle, it's time to bake. Of course, there's the classic apple pie or apple crisp (here's our favorite recipe) that you can bake, but don't forget about coffee cake, muffins and just plain sliced apples with a little bit of caramel dipping sauce.

Besides the food, which definitely takes the cake, we absolutely adore the fall weather. In New England, fall is the most beautiful season, and it's incredibly easy to see why. The crisp air, combined with a salty breeze (we love you, Portland, Maine!) just begs for long walks downtown or on the waterfront. Combine that with big, cozy sweaters from L.L. Bean, and you've got a perfect New England fall day.

The best part though: the foliage. You can go anywhere in the world, but the foliage is just better here. In beautiful hues of gold, yellow, orange, red and pink, the leaves paint a masterpiece everywhere they fall. Fall colors are just richer, vibrant and beautiful everywhere you look.
