How does the consultation work?
During a consultation you will speak with one of our experienced florists who will guide you through all of your flower needs and create flower recipes based on your vision, budget, guest size, skill level and comfort. They will ensure you know how to take care of your flowers, and teach you how to bring your dream to life.
Is DIY the only option you offer?
No. While DIY packages are the most budget friendly option, we do offer pre-made bridal bouquet and reception centerpiece packages. We offer both ready-made options as well as fully customizable options based upon the individual specifics of your event. These options can be explored during your floral consultation.
Is there a fee for the consultation?
Yes, we charge a one-time $75 fee for your initial 45 minute consultation. For this fee, our florists will provide you with a personalized floral proposal with recipes attached. If you choose to purchase your flowers from 48LongStems this fee will be credited to your order, so in essence it becomes a down payment for your wedding flowers.
Can You Get Flowers Not Shown On Your Website?
Yes, we can source virtually every flower and green available. We don't show every option because some are very seasonal, some are in limited supply and not always available, or must be ordered months in advance, and, some are, well, just plain fussy. We can source these flowers/greens, however, we want to ensure you understand that they may be more delicate and need special handling, and/or they are not as reliable as other flower varieties. Our goal is to ensure you feel completely confident with your flowers and that your DIY experience is succcessful, and that starts with choosing the right flowers for you. If you are interested in certain flowers or greens, give us a call at (207) 618-7618. You DO NOT need to schedule a floral consultation to ask about specific flower or greens availability.
How Early Do I Need To Order My Flowers?
Since all of our flowers are shipped directly from the farm, they MUST be ordered a minimum of 7 days PRIOR TO THE DATE YOU WANT THEM DELIVERED. Keep in mind, your flowers will need at least 24 hours to hydrate and begin opening once you receive them. Some flowers require additional time to open fully. If your wedding is on a Saturday, we generally suggest you have them delivered on the Tuesday before. That said, we HIGHLY recommend ordering as early as possible (2-3 months prior is great). Flowers and greens that are seasonal, or colors and specific varieties that are in high demand are reserved early in the year. Waiting until the last minute may result in having to accept a substitution or not being able to have your chosen blooms.
